Ski  Slope Sapphire ValleyThe area known as Sapphire, NC or Sapphire Valley is located between Cashiers NC and Lake Toxaway with Hwy 64 running East and West as a means of access.  Sapphire was so named because of the discovery of Sapphires in this area and has many special qualities that make it a great place to visit and/or reside.

The Sapphire Valley ski slope is located just off Hwy 64 in Sapphire and offers year round fun with snow skiing and tubing in the winter and grass tubing in the summer months.  There are also "concerts on the slopes" in the evening hours during the summer that allow folks to bring lawn chairs and listen to some great music while enjoying the cool summer temperatures. The weather in Sapphire NC is delightful all year round! 

Sapphire, NC is packed full of amenities to be enjoyed by property owners within Sapphire Valley including golf at the Sapphire Mountain Golf Club as well as a 9 hole course known as Red Bird.  The Fitness Center houses state of the art fitness equipment, indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools, video game room, putt putt golf course, tanning bed, sauna and jacuzzis.  The adjacent Sapphire community center building backs up to the ski slope and offers several meeting rooms perfect for gatherings and/or special events.  Also located just across the way is the walking track and children's playground area.



The Sapphire Resort area hosts the well known bi-annual Sapphire Valley Arts & Crafts Festivals offering beautiful local crafts and homemade goodies that really draws a crowd.  Along with plenty of fun things to do, there are numerous great places to eat here as well.  The Mountain Perk coffee shop is conveninetly located just across the road from the Sapphire Recreation and Community centers and is the perfect place to go to have a flavored coffee or cool refreshing smoothie while surfing the internet on the wireless internet available there or cozy up around the fireplace and visit with new friends.

Sapphire area dining ranges from Country Club gourmet with an elegant atmosphere to casual mountain fare that delights the palatte and has something for everyone.  The Cashiers, NC Farmers Market is conveniently located just up the road from Sapphire, is open most of the year and offers a variety of fresh produce along with local homegrown goodies and treats.

Sappire GolfEvery year around the 4th of July in Sapphire, the Greenville Symphony gives a "Symphony Under the Stars" concert featuring patriotic tunes, great food and a wonderful fireworks display.  Drawing a crowd of over 1800 people, this truly brings the community of Sapphire closer together and allows the opportunity to meet new friends and get together with old friends.

Beautiful Fairfield Lake in Sapphire is a small peaceful lake that provides an awesome backdrop of the Bald Rock Mountain face and offers canoeing, fishing and a small beach area that is available as part of the
Sapphire Valley Amenity package to property owners in Sapphire.

An added bonus to visiting the Sapphire NC area is that located just 10 minutes away is the wonderful little town of Cashiers NC, which offers some incredibly beautiful Cashiers NC Real Estate with long range mountain views, access to some of WNC most beautiful waterfalls, championship golf courses, quaint mountain shops and more!  

As if the Sapphire NC and Cashiers NC towns aren't enough, you can incorporate a short 20 minute drive further up Hwy 64 to the great mountain town of
Highlands NC.  Highlands NC is a small cultural area featuring many shops, art and fine dining, making the Highlands/Cashiers/Sapphire communities three for the price of one so to speak!
